Since being founded, Microwave Innovations has supported a widely varied customer base, and associated product type. Many unique designs yielded from use of our standard building blocks used across product lines. In other cases, completely new designs have been provided to programs.
The product lines all have experienced growth over the years which may include increases in power levels, frequency ranges, and increasing levels of product complexity, all the while feeding greater and greater levels of reliability and program rigor.
The migration may be summarized as relatively simple single frequency PCM/FM transmitters servicing a ballistic munition program, to present day multi-mode, multi band, extreme data rate digital modulations servicing defensive ICBM programs key to the US Strategic deterrent while obtaining RCC324 levels of compliance and qualification. Microwave Innovations is proud to be a supplier to many branches of the US Armed forces ,either directly or indirectly as a sub tier contractor, helping to insure that the warfighters have the very best tools at their disposal.

Microwave Innovations defines Airborne Telemetry (AT) as products that are typically used in airborne missions such as:
Microwave Innovations AT transmitters and their supporting telemetry components and are used in a wide range of missions and cover the full range of video, data, and command & control link needs for all environments and performance requirements.
Microwave Innovations AT products support a full range of ARTM modulations such as Tier 0 PCM/FM (Legacy), and Tier I (SOQPSK-TG), and Tier II (Multi-H CPM). The range of input data rates span from the low kbps to greater than 20 Mbps range through a number of common interface formats. MI products accept all standard analog and video formats, and are available with factory set and some selectable RF frequency products for UHF, P, L, S, and C-Band operation.
In addition to the many models and performance features available, MI transmitters, receivers, and supporting AT products can meet all of the typical telemetry environments including temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, and EMI/EMC. Program & Test requirements that are often requested and supported with these products for our customers include Preliminary & Critical Design Reviews, Test Reviews, and First Articles.
Microwave Innovations defines Launch Telemetry as products that are typically used in flight vehicles such as:
Microwave Innovations ST transmitters and their supporting telemetry components and are used in a wide range of missions and cover the full range of video, data, and command and control link needs for all environments and performance requirements.
Microwave Innovations supports both recurring production and single flight mission product needs. Depending on the requirements, MI products are built either as Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COT’s) or with Up-Screened parts programs. ST products are used in the most demanding flight performance requirements and support programs such as the Atlas IV, Delta V, and the Trident II D5 Ballistic Missile. These same high products standards are also found in products supplied to NASA Sounding Rockets, Small Satellites, and Commercial Space Customers.
Microwave Innovations ST products can support FSK, BPSK, QPSK, PCM/FM, SOQPSK-TG, and Multi-H CPM modulations, and commonly cover the UHF, P, L, S and C-Bands for RF Operation with available transmit power from 1 to 30-Watt, including multiple and controlled transmitter output features.
In addition to the many models and performance features available, Microwave Innovations transmitters, receivers, and supporting ST products can meet all of the typical telemetry environments including temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, and EMI/EMC requirements. Microwave Innovations defines Munitions Telemetry (MT) as products that are typically used in:
Microwave Innovations MT products include the full range of TM Kit components including transmitters, receivers, encoders, and antennas, either individually or as a complete assembly. MI has a long history of design for munitions high-shock environments and their unique mechanical and performance requirements.
Microwave Innovations regularly designs its MT products to support over 50,000 G’s of shock in its transmitters and supporting components. These products are designed to fit efficiently and easily within the designated delivery system, and are used daily at many of the nation’s leading test facilities and US Arsenal Centers. MI is the go-to partner in engineering where telemetry is required. Legacy systems or new production grade products and systems are equally supported.
Microwave Innovations transmitters can support data rates from a few kbps up to 10 Mbps and feature built-in encoders providing, as an example, 16 channels of encoded data, 8 digital and 8 analog inputs plus 1 serial input. Whether it is supporting a short-term critically fast turn-around design and test program or full long-term production support, your needs can be met.
In addition to the many models and performance features available, MI transmitters, receivers, and supporting MT products can meet all of the typical MT telemetry environments including temperature, vibration, shock, humidity, EMI/EMC, and HALT/HASS testing. Program & Test requirements that are often supported for our customers include Preliminary & Critical Design Reviews, Test Reviews, and First Articles.
Microwave Innovations defines Engineering & Systems Telemetry (ES) as projects and the resulting products as those support in part or complete telemetry kits used in flight vehicles serving each of the other product groups:
Microwave Innovations often provides engineering and system designs for its customers with an experienced engineering design team with development and test resources readily available for all of the legacy and current state-of-the art telemetry technologies.
Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) is often requested by our customers and can include a unique one-of-a-kind transmitter or a telemetry kit with full design, qualification test, and recurring production program. There are no limitations to the size and scope of NRE programs MI is prepared to support and respond to telemetry requirements.
