TimeTraveler Portable GNSS Synchronized Time and Frequency System

The ORCA Technologies TimeTraveler is a rugged C/A or M-Code GPS Synchronized portable master clock that can easily be transported to locations where no synchronization or UTC traceable time and frequency sources are available. The TimeTraveler utilizes a high performance rubidium frequency standard as its internal clock. Prior to deployment the TimeTraveler requires several days of synchronization from GPS to properly discipline the internal rubidium frequency standard in order to meet the high performance requirements of better than +/- 15 milliseconds over a period of one (1) year with no external synchronization.


The TimeTraveler can be configured with one or two high performance Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. Because ORCA utilizes a “Low Power Mode” of operation while running on batteries this allows our unit to maintain precision time and operation of the rubidium frequency standard in excess of 20 hours. For those situations where a user requires extended battery operation beyond 20 hours, ORCA Technologies has designed an external Battery Pack that can be used in conjunction with the TimeTraveler. These battery packs can be transported separately, charged independently, swapped as needed, and combined to provide a wide range of run times.

PRG-101C-10 Portable Rate Generator

The purpose of the Model PRG-101C-10 is to provide a 10 Volt 1PPS synchronization pulse that is used as a reference frequency for user equipment applications. In addition the unit outputs GPS time, position and status via a USB port that operates as a Virtual Communication Port (VCP).


The PRG-101C-10 outputs the following NMEA messages once per second: GGA, RMC or GSA.

Switch Distribution Amplifier

SD-218 Switch Distribution Amplifie

The ORCA Technologies SD-218 switch and distribution unit is an intelligent switching, monitoring and distribution system, packaged in a 1U rack-mount chassis. The unit consists of 2 inputs BNC’s labeled A and B that can be routed to the 18 outputs BNCs. Control of the switch is operating mode dependent. The instrument is designed with 50 Ω source impedance and will provide unity gain from input to output.


The SD-218 includes comprehensive input signal frequency monitoring logic where the user can define what the expected frequency should be on each input. If the input signal does not fall within the defined margin of error and the unit is in the auto mode, a frequency fault condition may cause a switch to occur. The unit also has 2 fault logic level inputs that map to the A, B inputs. These inputs can be connected to upstream equipment (reference source) to signal the SD-218 that the reference is not viable. All fault conditions are summed providing a common alarm output available on the rear panel.

CD-101 6-Digit Display

 

The DD-101 provides accurate time which is intended to be displayed on a surface or other location requiring large time characters where only a small panel space is available. The DD-101 is also capable to be mounted in a rack environment, using the accessory Rack Mount Faceplate, RFMP-BLK1. The time information may be derived from either the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) or a time code input.

The front panel provides a high contrast OLED display, status LEDs and navigation switches for parameter selection and setup.

The rear panel has an RJ-45 network connector, code input BNC and a 9-pin DB connector.

The DD-101 can be powered using pins on the DB-9 connector or via the network connection via Power Over Ethernet (PoE).
