At CRFS, we design, build, program and deploy systems and solutions for RF spectrum monitoring, management and geolocation. We serve both defense and homeland security customers as well as the civilian regulatory market.
We believe that the best hardware, software and know-how contributes to our customers’ success. And with that philosophy in mind we have developed some of the most advanced RF sensors available. Our sensors are high performing, compact, rugged and modular, coupled with intuitive software that can turn RF data into actionable intelligence.
We are fully committed to the highest standards of quality for our development and manufacturing processes as well as to preserving the environment. As such, CRFS is certified ISO 9001.
It’s not just the products that are high performing – it’s also the people: developers, engineers and scientists with experience within the military, regulatory and research sectors. They understand the challenges facing our customers and work with them to deliver uncompromising solutions.
CRFS doesn’t just provide hardware and software; they are part of the solution. They can work with you to determine, build and deploy the system that meets your specific needs and those of your customers. They have long-term partnerships with many of their customers, working closely with them not just to ensure successful deployment of equipment, but also to develop the specific features and functionality they require.
Detect and locate signals of interest. Knowing that a transmission exists is important, but knowing the location of that transmission can deliver vital intelligence in both military and civilian applications.
- UAS (drone) detection
- Locating RF interference sources
- Border security
- Aircraft tracking
- Geolocating the enemy by their transmissions
CRFS solutions are able to detect, classify and locate signals of interest over a wide area
CRFS provides intelligent systems for real-time monitoring and management of the RF spectrum. Their systems (RFeye Nodes and RFeye Arrays) can be deployed indoors or outdoors to autonomously and continuously monitor spectrum, sending data in real time over IP to a remote operator. The intelligence of the RFeye spectrum monitoring systems allows tasks to be scheduled and key insights to be highlighted, removing the need for operators to observe spectrum 24/7.
The quest for illicit intelligence is a never-ending threat; from criminals trying to obtain information for financial gain, to sophisticated state-sponsored adversaries looking for political and military gains. While we do not always know what kind of threats are around us, a robust security policy encompassing physical security, cyber security and protection from electronic surveillance is needed to ensure secrets remain secret. The security of your building, your Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), your private conversations, your plans and secrets can all be compromised by small, inexpensive surveillance devices (GSM bugging devices are available today from well-known online retailers for less than $50).
Critical National Infrastructure (CNI), typically defined as assets essential to the safety, security and economic well being of a country, require the highest levels of protection to prevent, mitigate and enable effective response to risks. Those charged with Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) face a heavy responsibility to ensure the risk of disasters (including loss of life and severe economic damage) are minimized as far as possible. Governments also impose strict regulations surrounding the protection of national infrastructure, meaning that even where there are no consequences to an unmanaged risk, organizations can still face financial penalties for failing to address it.
Drones and UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) have many positive and legitimate uses but there are increasing concerns that drones are being used for illegal and dangerous activities: flying too close to passenger aircraft, smuggling drugs/weapons into prisons, privacy concerns and even weaponized drones. The list grows daily, as do the incidents. RFeye Drone Defense is a passive RF sensing system that geolocates drone & operator emissions in 3 dimensions: latitude, longitude and altitude. The system can track multiple drones simultaneously and alert operational/security staff to the confirmed presence of a drone and its location, all in real time.
RFeye AirDefense is a wide-area 3D geolocation and intelligence system that can identify and track aircraft while remaining invisible to electronic detection. Its covert nature makes the system ideal for border monitoring, radar augmentation, target acquisition, spoofing detection and more. RFeye AirDefense solution uses 3D TDOA to achieve highly accurate tracking of RF emissions from objects such as enemy aircraft without emitting any electromagnetic signature that may give away your presence.

High-performance spiral directional antenna modules are optimized for different frequency bands and arranged in multiple orientations.
The RFeye SenS Portable takes the long-duration, high-fidelity RF signal recording you might expect from a desktop recording system, and delivers it in a lightweight, portable form factor. Where other portable RF recorders cut corners in terms of signal fidelity, the SenS Portable combines small size and low weight with a highly sensitive RFeye receiver. This makes it ideal for capturing live, real-world signals in their native environment – without sacrificing RF recording quality. With tremendous resolution and ultra-low noise, the SenS Portable empowers you to capture the most complex RF signals, including intermittent, low-power signals, even signals with a short pulse duration that hide next to other transmission sources.
The Node Plus+ performs all the functions of a standard CRFS receiver Node but with the addition of full-rate I/Q streaming and use of a more powerful COTS processor. It enables secure recording to take place in fixed, unmanned locations such as on a mast or tower; no data is stored on the remote receivers. The weatherproof remote receiver heads are located as close to the antenna as possible to minimize cable losses. Data from the receivers is streamed via fiber-optic cables to COTS rack-mounted processors and storage media (SAN, NAS or RAID, for example) housed in a building or secure environmental enclosure.
Node Plus+ has been designed to operate in the harshest of conditions on land and on sea while delivering high-fidelity, low-noise spectrum data
Feye Guard is a continuous TSCM (Technical Surveillance Countermeasures) solution that combines highly sensitive and broad bandwidth receivers with simple autonomous software to ensure you never miss an illicit signal.
The high-specification receiver technology is able to detect low-power and advanced signals that would be missed by many handheld sweepers. And since electronic surveillance devices are not guaranteed to operate in obvious parts of the RF spectrum, the ability to continuously monitor the spectrum up to 18 GHz is a critical feature built into our systems. Sweep rates of almost 400 GHz/s and a resolution down to 1 Hz enable the highest possible probability of interception to be achieved.
